My 3rd grade students are energetic and excited about learning. They are always asking questions and wanting to dig deeply into our units of study. My 3rd graders thrive with hands-on activities which help to keep them on-task, while remaining focused on learning through discovery. My goal is to give them every opportunity to enrich their learning process by incorporating iPads into our classroom.
Since our classroom doesn't have computers an iPad would allow students to conduct research, explore the outside world and play educational games without taking up space in our classroom.
It would also give them the freedom to move around when working in teams or partnerships
By exposing students to iPads, we are sparking students' interests while creating lifelong learners. An iPad will help to make the curriculum fun and engaging as students are the driving force behind their own learning.
My Project
An iPad in the classroom allows students to take virtual field trips, offers them an unlimited library of resources, and it’s a multipurpose learning tool that can appeal to all types of learners. We can incorporate an iPad into our math lessons to strengthen our math computation. In language arts we can create presentations on units of study. In addition, we can use to conduct research in social studies or science.
Best of all an iPad in our classroom can be used in all aspects of curriculum- research, review, remediation, enrichment, and collaboration.
The opportunities for learning are endless with the creative minds in our class!
