My Students

My students are an awesome group of learners! They show up to school ready to learn. Their sense of wonder and amazement is contagious!

I have a group of 24 students.

Our class is composed of 13 boys and 11 girls. My students are at a Title 1 school. They are a diverse bunch. My students range in various reading abilities. They range between beginning kinder levels and end of third grade levels.

My Project

My students will greatly benefit from these keyboards. We have recently acquired some Nexus tablets. We are ecstatic to get to use them. However, we have to share these with another classroom. Also, the screen space is greatly reduced when typing. I would like for the students to be able to search by typing into the keyboards and freeing up screen space. They would use these to help them publish their writing. They would do this by typing up their work then uploading a picture to match their story. The skills attained with this technology will be very beneficial to them in the future. I would like the computer help us make movies using the iMovie feature. The students will be acting in plays through Reader's Theater. I would like to record them and make short movies with comprehension questions to go along with it. I also would like to use the Garage Band Feature to help the students make books with a recording of them reading them.

These donations will help motivate my students to learn.

Teachers are often in need to come up with creative ways to get students excited about learning. Technology does just that! My students will be excited to do assignments that will be on display for all to see. We will be able to move their thoughts from paper to a computerized project.
