Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students walk into class each day excited to see what the day brings. Their smiles are infectious and thirst for knowledge inspiring. And just as my students love being at school, I love them right back. A community of compassion and support is experienced daily. Being at a Title 1 school my students are faced with many challenges. Many personal and beyond control. What shouldn't be a challenge is having the same opportunities every child should have to grow academically. What can make a difference in any of my students or those at my school's, life is the opportunities to grow out of their situation through education and technology. If love, compassion and caring was all these students needed to succeed, then I could say my job was done.
They hold the dream of success in life as all students do, but they need the tools to help them reach it.
My Project
The 4 chromebooks I am requesting will provide my students with the much needed acquisition of computer skills and educational enrichment through technology to follow them through their education. Students will be able to access ebooks connected to ELA curriculum, research topics, and obtain EL support towards language acquisition through specialized programs.
Having access to chrome books in their classroom will provide my students with much needed experience while enriching their day.
Currently my 2nd graders only have access to computers during periods of testing or upon request. Having free access to computers in the classroom will allow them the freedom to explore beyond our walls daily.
