Ms. May from Baltimore MD is requesting technology through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need technology like an iPad and LeapFrog materials to help make learning more engaging and hands-on.

The children of today are technology kids. These kids love technology and they love using technology to learn.
My students come from a low-poverty area.
The school they attend is Title 1. The students often come from broken homes, and face many challenges. Many of my students only live with one parent and some live with neither. Despite all of their challenges in life, they come to school excited and ready to learn. Students in my class are very positive and love to learn. School is the place for them to grow and be the best that they can be. Many of my students do not have access to technology at home. For many, school is the only time they get to use any sort of technology. My classroom is very limited with technology. We have several iPads that we share with the whole school so my children seldom get to use them. I would love to have an iPad to stay in my room, as well as other forms of kid friendly technology.
My children will be able to use these materials to help reinforce the different concepts that are taught in class. I will be able to put on applications that will help the students practice what is being taught in class. Children of today's generation love being able to use technology. I believe that these materials will help keep my students engaged. It will also be a good motivation tool for my students.
Having these materials in my classroom will help improve daily instruction.
Students will be able to use these materials independently during small groups. The apps that they work on will be centered around what is being taught. They will be working independently, and with help from technology they will be able to reach the correct answer without constant teacher support.
