Our school serves some of the district's neediest students. The students in my Pre-K Head Start classes are economically disadvantaged with 100% of them receiving free or reduced-price lunch.The Head Start program is vital to closing the educational gaps and support each child with excellence as the standard.
I love seeing my students light up when they learn new things.
The best way to inspire my students learning is to provide them with hands-on learning opportunities. We do our best learning through play.
My Project
In our classroom, the Kindle Fire 7 (Kid Edition) tablets are used during small group to help differentiate instruction in the classroom. During small group, we do a three table rotation daily. The three tables include a math station, literacy station, and a technology station. Each student rotates through the three stations each day.
By having the Kindle Fire tablets, I am able to make my small groups smaller allowing me to give more one on one support to each child.
It is hard to teach a small group with ten students, but a group 6-7 students is much easier.
I download educational apps to the tablets so students can practice math and literacy skills independently. This allow each child to have some control of their lessons and how they learn them.
Unfortunately, a few of our tablets are out of date and need to be replace. Your generous donation will allow me to replace the out of date tablets ensuring each child has a device to use during small group time.
