Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
The students that I teach are creative, curious, and highly motivated learners. My second-grade class consists of general education, special education, and ESL learners who love to learn! They love to explore new experiences that satisfy their natural curiosity. Providing real-world, hands-on experiences allows my students to produce work that is meaningful for them. Our Title I school believes that our population of students learn in diverse ways. My inquisitive learners have very diverse needs and the methods and environment in which they learn best vary greatly. The students I currently teach have not been in the school building for over a year. This is their first full year of in-person learning and my goal is to make their in-school learning experience amazing.
My Project
These Chromebooks will help promote literacy and math skills during centers. There are a plethora of online resources that my students need access to in order to strengthen critical skills. Chromebooks will give us access to these wonderful virtual tools while strengthening our S.T.E.M. skills through the use of technology.
“If we teach today as we taught yesterday, we rob our children of tomorrow” (John Dewey).
Coming in from over a year of virtual learning, it is safe to say that technology defines the future. Technology is a resource my students need to explore and utilize in a safe and positive way. Their careers will potentially be driven by technology, therefore exposure to technology at an early age and using technology for small group instruction will benefit my students for a lifetime!
