My school has a high percentage of free and reduced-price lunch recipients.

We also have a large diversity of cultural and ethnic backgrounds. This year, I have a mixed ability group consisting of nine boys and eleven girls. Some have grasped reading skills at a faster rate than others, and some need a little more time. They are eager to learn.

My Project

Imagine being in 3rd grade. You hear your teacher teaching you about science, technology, and math. You sit and listen every day but you just can not understand fully what she is trying to teach.

Now, imagine your lessons coming to life and making sense.

Imagine your teacher teaches you something and then you can use the computer to make it real.

With these Chromebooks, my students will be able to research and implement their lessons. For example, my students will learn about writing All About Books. This project will allow them to research an animal through various websites. Then they will be able to create presentations to share what they have learned. They will be able to go beyond poster boards and simple reports.
