Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are thoughtful, curious, and passionate about making a difference. As they learn more about the challenges our planet faces, like pollution, climate change, and habitat loss, they are eager to explore real solutions and share what they learn with others. Many of my students don’t have access to technology at home, so having a MacBook Air in our classroom will give them the opportunity to dive deeper into environmental research and collaborative digital projects.

With this laptop, my students will be able to access real-time environmental data, research global and local sustainability efforts, and create digital presentations, videos, and infographics to share their learning with the school community.

It will also support interactive tools like virtual field trips to national parks or coral reefs and simulations of climate impact scenarios. This technology will transform our environmental unit into a student-led exploration of how young people can advocate for change and take part in protecting our planet.

The goal of this project is to empower students to engage in meaningful, hands-on environmental education using technology. With access to a MacBook Air, students will research climate and sustainability topics, analyze data, and use multimedia tools to creatively share what they learn. This project will help them build digital literacy while fostering environmental responsibility, critical thinking, and communication skills. By connecting their learning to real-world issues, students will see that their voices and actions matter when it comes to the health of our planet.
