Help me give my students a laptop for parent engagement to teach about the new ways to integrate technology at home to improve literacy and math skills.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are the most vivacious, creative, responsible, energetic, and eager to learn five years old I have ever seen.
My little dreamers want to be the marine biologists, firefighters, teachers, and police officers of the future.
Of those 22, some are English learners, and others receive different services as stated in their IEPs. They all have a think win-win attitude and do their personal best to contribute to our classroom community.
Our school is a Title I school located in a poor neighborhood that is richly diverse.
My Project
This connection is a key component of a child's development and supporting further learning. Parent involvement in early childhood education can extend the experiences that a child has in the classroom to real-world activities that happen in the home. Family is the single most important influence in a child's life. From their first moments of life, children depend on parents and family to protect them and provide for their needs. Parents and family form a child's first relationships. We live in the 21st century and it’s important for parents to learn how technology in enriching ways to provide success to their child.
With the use of laptops, my students can learn how to get early interventions needed for higher reading achievement by learning how to use Raz kids, ABC Ya, and iReady.
In addition to this, my parents will learn how to increase their school involvement, home involvement, and parental monitoring with the use of Class Dojo. Please help us have these tools to increase parent involvement for our students.
