My Students

Our culture is what makes us who we are. We believe that. The 5th grade students at my school is made up of 40 vibrant young boys and girls who come together every day to celebrate us! We are a group made up of Polynesian, Hispanic, Caucasian, and refugees... and we are all different. That is what makes us unique. This is what bonds us together.

My students are eager to learn and they ask thought-provoking questions.

However, their lives are not easy. The pandemic these last few years has impacted each one of my students lives and we are now bonded together even more with this experience as well. With being outside of the classroom and then inside it again, the change easily disrupts our ability to learn together through hands on learning. And even though technology has come a long way, it cannot recreate our inside the classroom experiences exactly. But I want to make it as close as possible through the use of a new piece of technology that can be used in our learning no matter where we are.

We all work and paddle our canoe together to succeed. We are Crew!

My Project

Teaching and learning for students in the classroom always has its challenges. Teaching and learning virtually and from a distance is a whole other skill for both students and teachers. By having access to an iPad in our classroom we will be able to use creative learning apps and project to share our work with the entire class, since it is able to double as a document camera.

The best part is, we can take this show on the road!

(If we have to, of course). There is no other place we would rather be than together in our classroom. With the COVID-19 circumstances of today, however, we are not able to tell what our learning future always holds. So with the iPad, our classroom can continue learning using engaged tools even if we are virtual for a while.
