Tech-Boosted Science: Helping Teens Explore the Universe

My Project

My students are curious, hands-on learners with a deep love for the ocean and the incredible creatures that inhabit our planet. They come to class ready to dive into complex topics—everything from the ecology of coral reefs to the anatomy of deep-sea organisms.

Many of them dream of becoming marine biologists, wildlife vets, or environmental scientists, and they thrive when given the tools to explore, visualize, and interact with the natural world in real-time.

To bring their learning to life, I’m seeking an iPad, Apple Pencil, Apple TV, and a new projector. These tools will transform our science classroom into a dynamic, interactive learning environment.

The iPad will be used for digital field journals, marking up and highlighting slide presentations, virtual dissections, and ocean exploration apps. It allows students to visually dive deeper into topics beyond the textbook.

The Apple Pencil will give students access to the precision needed to view organisms, labeled anatomy, and annotated digital assignments with scientific accuracy.

The Apple TV will let us mirror student work or presentations, stream documentaries, and interact with educational content as a class—all wirelessly.

My current projector is so old (10+ years) that it is hard for students to see and my district does not have the funds to buy me a new one. The new projector will ensure every student can clearly see detailed visuals, scientific data, and live demonstrations, making lessons more engaging and accessible.

With these resources, our classroom will become a hub of scientific discovery where students feel empowered to ask questions, investigate the world, and think like real scientists. Your support helps create an inspiring space where students are not just learning science—they’re doing science.
