My students are creative, thoughtful and full of questions! They absolutely love hands-on, active, engaging projects! They come to school each day ready to try new things and take brave chances in order to grow both personally and academically. Truly, they are my inspiration!
Many students in my classroom come in saying they have difficulty completing practice assignments at home because of lack of supplies and resources.
Our school is in Cincinnati, Ohio. It ranges from low income to middle class. 44% of our student receive free lunch and another 8% receive reduced-rate lunch.
Each child in my classroom absolutely loves learning, although the lack of supplies hinders what we are able to do. Often I am searching for deals in order to create projects that enhance engagement and learning. They are truly an incredible group, and I am so lucky and thankful to have a new group of learners that are excited and ready to learn each year!
My Project
Many schools ask for extensive supply lists from parents and with those supplies the students needs are met in the classroom. We are asking for very few supplies from parents and even then our students aren't able to come to school with the tools they need to learn. Often our teachers are dipping into their own pockets to meet the needs of our students. This year our funding for supplies has gone down and we can no longer ask for the items on the list I have provided.
By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve and increase student attention and focus, you will ultimately help to increase their academic achievement with supplies to include novels, paper, pencils, pencil bags, markers, colored pencils, scissors, and folders.
Students will be able to simply focus on the academic material at hand, and not whether they have the materials. I will not have to stop class in order to assist students with items they don't have.
