it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Creating a safe, nurturing, and collaborative classroom environment makes a very big difference in every student's learning experience. These three items: backpack cart, media cart, and vacuum are all vital tools that our classroom needs in order to provide my students with a functional, efficient, and clean space. The dimensions of our classroom have stayed the same since our school doors opened, but teaching and learning has continuously evolved. Gone are the days where students sat on their desks for the entire school day. Now, learning has become more dynamic and interactive. With these changes, our classroom furniture is in desperate need of some upgrades to "get with the times."
With these tools, all of my students will be able to take more accountability and independence with their self-help skills during arrival and dismissal routines, have better access and view of our daily lessons, and more importantly have pride by having a cleaner, healthier, and safer space.
My students are the most flexible students I know. They roll with the punches, and go with the flow. But even if that is the case, they are at their best and thrive most when we have a structured environment that caters to their needs. One of the greatest things about teaching my class is having the opportunity to teach the same students for 3 to 4 years. By helping us fulfill this project, they will be able to make use of this investment for half of their elementary school career!
All of my students come from various home life and living situations, and we have all worked so hard to create a nurturing classroom environment where they can feel safe. I hope that these upgraded items will help us create an even better classroom environment, especially for the new year.
