Help me give my students theatre caps with our logo and their theatre task on it. With the snap of a cap students can learn what makes an ensemble team a dream team!

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Throughout the school year, there are school-wide events for our students. Some of our students are unable to participate due to impairment in social emotional development, cognitive disabilities or sensory issues. I want to change that. They have so much potential. And I know that the performing arts in school can provide a unifying and safe vehicle for students with disabilities to build social skills, share friendships, develop self-control and awareness.
I want to provide black baseball caps with our Black Box Theatre logo and students' theatre role on the caps, so even if their role is moving props, then their cap would say 'Prop Master'.
Even creating the logo for each cap can be uplifting for them. I want my students to know they are part of a team. They are contributing to the team. And teams support one another. So, when you see each other in the hallway with the cap on, you greet each other because that student is on your team. During rehearsals, at recess, in the cafeteria, on the school bus, you have a responsibility to one another, you support your team.
I teach at a Title I and Title III school in the South Bronx for students with autism and/or multiple disabilities. These logo caps will encourage my students to have empathy, loyalty and learn self-control and leadership. This will also extend their understanding of a theatre ensemble through a variety of approaches and with multiple perspectives that allow them to work with one another and highlight their abilities.
Won't you help my students learn that the theatre teaches them about themselves, their peers, and enhances their lives.
