Our students come from a variety of different economic backgrounds with many receiving free lunch. This is a Title I school where many students are receiving extra help with math and reading to try to get them close to where they should be for their grade.
These 8-9 year olds are very eager to learn but just don't always know how.
They are full of life and excitement! School is the place where they can go to feel safe during the day.
My Project
Many students struggle with figuring out how to work with others in partners and small groups. The Plus Plus, LEGO sets, and Magna Tiles will all encourage my students to work together with other students to be able to build. This will also encourage the students to listen to each other's ideas and decide how to proceed.
These games and materials will help my students learn the necessary skills to be successful in school, their lives, and future jobs!
Each of these board games will help my students learn how to play and play together. They will also learn the very important skill of how to be a good winner and good loser. Overall, I believe that these items are going to teach my students some very valuable lessons!
