My Students
I teach Gifted and Talented students in grades Kindergarten through fifth. My school is a language immersion program that allows the students to be immersed in either the French or Spanish language and culture.
My students begin learning a foreign language in Kindergarten-hearing only their new target language from the first day of Kindergarten.
They focus on this new language until 5th grade when they have the opportunity to study as an exchange student in another country. Students learn to read and write in this new target language from their first year at our school.
My Project
These Lego WeDo kits would allow my students to grapple with problem solving skills, collaboration and critical-thinking skills while they work with technology, engineering and math concepts.
These kits are engaging and hands-on, allowing students to work together towards a common goal, gaining exposure to STEM concepts and solving problems collaboratively.
Students will be building on their communication and problem solving skills while learning to see failure as an opportunity to gain information. They will have the opportunity to be part of a team that will be looking for solutions to real-world problems and issues as they use these kits. Using these kits will give my students tools they can use throughout their academic years as well as in their careers.
