This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I want to start by saying that our students are eager to learn new skills and activities in their Physical Education classes. As a team we bring new and innovative activities that our students have not seen or learned to play. Team Handball will be one of those activities. My students value PE.

My students are awesome, there is not a sport or activity they will not try.

They are eager to learn how to stay active through adulthood. For this reason I want to teach them different sports and activities that will peak their interest not only during the school year but also beyond. Our school is in a high poverty area, and we have a team of teachers and staff that believe our students and their success is our number one priority. Our Physical Education teachers work together to provide many different activities and sports for our students and our students appreciate the new skills they learn.

My Project

Our students will learn not only a new skill but how to play as a team. Our students will use these resources to learn a lifelong activity that they can pursue when they are out of school in order to stay active and live a healthy lifestyle. Our students are eager to learn new activities and skills and with these resources we will be able to bring that to them. My students need portable soccer/handball goals and team handballs to learn a new sport in our classes.

The difference this donation will make is one that will be beyond measure.

Our students' lives will be changed because they will be learning a life long activity that will help them continue to live a healthy lifestyle beyond their school years. It is important to expand their concept of sports already known and show them sports and activities that others may play but our students are not yet familiar with. I am looking forward to teaching this new sport and seeing the excitement in my class.
