Teaching with Technology

My students need an iPad mini and case to help aid in reading and math practice and to use in other educational areas as well.

My Students

"Be the change you want to see in the world", so said Mahatma Gandhi. I believe that children have the ability to change the world. If given the right opportunity, and resources to make them competitive in the technological world we live in, they will succeed.

My students are from a small town in rural Illinois.

60% are on the free and reduced lunch program. They have so much potential given the right resources. They are excited to learn new things. Some days I learn as much from them as they learn from me! I always tell my kids "when they go to college", not "IF".

My Project

With an iPad mini in the classroom students will have access to the Internet as well as many educational apps. They will also be able to access the Accelerated Reader Program. I will be able to show them things on the Internet through the Smartboard via the portable iPad. I want to instill a love of learning in all my kids, and I want those who do not have access at home to be exposed to technology at school. If you choose to donate to our project you will definitely make a difference to many small town kids. When I think about this project being funded, I think of all the smiles and excitement.

Since school has started, we have had two iPad Mini's donated to our classroom.

We would like to have a third to complete our "Listen to Reading Center". The kids rush in each morning if it is "their day" to have the iPad. These resources have truly made a difference!
