Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world (Nelson Mandela). Every week as an elementary education teacher, I get a chance to teach one hundred thirty-two students in the gifted and talented program. This diverse group of students come in excited to learn and experience instruction through the use of hands-on learning, cooperative learning and problem solving.

In order for these students to have these learning experiences, funding is needed to purchase i Pads.

The use of technology in the classroom improves engagement, knowledge retention and encourages individual learning.

My Project

Students learn best by engaging in the learning process. It is difficult to teach in today's classrooms without the use of technology. When you start-up a new program without the necessary tools for learning, instruction is limited for twenty-first century learners. My students are in need of iPads to complete activities that involve real world learning.

When technology is integrated into the learning process, knowledge retention improves and students acquire skills that will take them beyond high school.

Students will use the iPads to engage in Project Lead the Way activities. These activities create an engaging hands-on classroom environment that empower students to thrive.
