My Students

I am the district librarian in a low-income/high poverty school district. My students are faced with challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite these challenges they face, I am looking to help them compete with other students in our state.

I work very hard to give my students a great school environment.

We have a great middle/high school library. When we went into remote learning, last winter, I realized that I needed more online resources for my students.

My Project

We have amazing fiction readers at both our elementary and middle high schools. I want to give all of my students access to great non-fiction books as well. In this time of laptops, iPads, and smartphones, it is still important that students get a chance to do research with paper resources.

Colleges these days are still asking for a variety of resources for research papers.

If we can provide nonfiction books to our students and make sure they are comfortable using them for knowledge and research they will do well when they graduate from high school.
