Teaching Tolerance Through Tech

My students need two Chromebooks to access resources that will help build tolerance and help students appreciate the diversity around them.

My Students

My class is full of ambitious learners. They adore exploring new concepts and racing around the room sharing discoveries, creations, and using their critical thinking skills to help each other in a compassionate environment where learning and growth are celebrated.

My class is comprised of highly motivated, intelligent, and inquisitive students who are constantly in search of a challenge.

I think of my class and school as "Teacher Heaven." I am so fortunate to work in a school where new ideas and creativity are embraced, encouraged and supported by the parents and staff. My dream classroom for my curious students integrates technology and enriches the students' learning through collaborative activities.

My Project

With the use of Chromebooks in our classroom, students will have an opportunity to explore and research famous men and women in American History such as Benjamin Banneker, Harriet Tubman, and Alexander Hamilton. These individuals faced many challenges in their life and exemplified how respect and tolerance can change our world.

Through class discussions, Flipgrid posts, lessons, and projects, students will be able to access resources that will help build tolerance and help students appreciate the diversity around them.

These Chromebooks will allow my students to work with others in various ways in the classroom, opening up opportunities for collaboration. I hope my students see these differences, look for similarities, and learn that all of it makes our classroom and world unique! It is my goal that through their newfound knowledge, my students will develop into thoughtful and compassionate leaders.
