My Students

In my classroom you will find twenty smiling faces who have a true zeal for learning. As you can imagine, putting that many five and six-year-olds in a room together can get quite loud. If you walked by our door at any given moment of the day you would see children engaged in various activities helping them develop their craft as a student to become lifelong learners!

In kindergarten, we not only learn letters and numbers but also how to be a supportive member of our classroom community.

My Project

“Play is often talked about as if it were a relief from serious learning. But for children play is serious learning. Play is really the work of childhood.” – Fred Rogers. Mr. Rogers really knew what he was talking about. Every afternoon for a generation, Mr. Rogers invited us into his world and taught us how to use our imaginations and be a good neighbor.

I want to teach children to love themselves and others no matter our differences; it is our differences that make us special.

With these puppets, I hope to encourage positive play that challenges my students to understand each other. We don't have the same face, the same skin, the same hair, the same name, the same language, the same family structure, or the same beliefs but we have hearts with a great capacity for love and brains with a great capacity for knowledge. We need each other to make a beautiful classroom and a beautiful world.
