This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

"Play gives children a chance to practice what they are learning." by Fred Rogers.

My students love free exploration time and most of them love the dramatic play area.

I see them pretending to be moms, dads, police officers, fire fighters, construction workers and etc. They accept and assign roles, and then act them out. They pretend to be someone or something different from themselves, and dramatize situations and actions to go along with the roles they have chosen to play.

I am requesting prevent career vest and backdrops so my students can invite everyone in the dramatic play area for some pretend lunch and dinners without leaving anyone out. Each different play drops will encourage all students to accept their pretend role and practice good communication skills without being judge.

These items in my project will help promote tolerance when learning to play together. This is so important especially when this is their first year in school for many of my students. I see many of them still having trouble socializing and getting along. I want to help my students understanding the fact that we are all different, but we can still be friends regardless and through dramatic play, they can. I am also requesting soccer balls so my can take them out to play soccer outside with friends and practice what they learning on our dramatic play area.
