My Students
I am a National Board Certified teacher in Literacy. I work at a Title I elementary school with more than 60% of the students who receive free or reduced price lunch. Many of our students come from military families due to our location near several bases. Our school is diverse with learning styles, cultures, and interests. Students at my school are hardworking, creative, critical thinkers and enjoy playing all types of sports outside of school.
My Project
The students will read books that reflect characters from diverse cultures. Students will use the easel pads and markers to write and discuss ways we can show respect and empathy for others. Students will develop an understanding of tolerance through their discussions and reflections of their learning. Students will design posters which will be displayed around our classroom on the corkboards and dry eraser boards that symbolize acceptance of others for their differences.
This project will empower my students to make a difference in our world and it starts with a solid foundation.
With your help my students will develop the character they need to show love and empathy.
