Our elementary school serves students from Kindergarten to 5th Grade. More than 65% of our students are on free or reduced lunch, as many families are of low socioeconomic status. This percentage seems to grow every year in our community.
This experience will affect students' education in years to come by providing their teachers with proven techniques that help all children succeed.

My Project
What is the ONE thing that will increase student achievement? Engagement. “The Ron Clark Academy has assembled a faculty of master educators who have different teaching styles but a shared objective: to demonstrate how to improve student engagement, increase academic rigor, and create a school climate and culture that leads to success for all learners.” The Educator Training at The Ron Clark Academy focuses on: promoting student engagement, strategies for effective classroom discipline, promoting academic rigor while meeting the needs of all learners, increasing student engagement through higher order questioning, teaching creatively while achieving high standardized tests and creating a climate and culture that promotes student success.
I would like to attend the two-day training, which offers an in-depth professional development including classroom observations and workshops.
This is a unique and powerful opportunity to be able to observe master teachers in action and witness proven methods that have led to student success.
