My Students

Hello! I am lucky enough to transition skills to adult students with disabilities! My students have a variety of disabilities such as autism, schizophrenia, and intellectual disabilities. Many are non-verbal, and need 1:1 assistance from another adult. This group of eager minds is in a self-contained classroom that explores the community everyday to access Community Based Instruction to learn from the world around them.

My students are eager to develop skills that increase independence, self-advocacy, connection with the community, and access to the workforce.

Currently my students run a snack cart and a cafe in order to develop their vocational proficiency. They can take orders, handle money, cook, clean, and ensure proper safety measures. They are driven, silly, and incredibly inspirational. I look forward to developing more vocational opportunities so my students can learn a wide array of job skills including basic tech, screen printing, and banking. My Project

I am requesting a Cricut and accessories so that my students can learn to screen print. Cricut will take our transition program to the next level! My students are eager to learn new vocational skills, and Cricut can take us there. I look forward to teaching my class how to make shirts and stickers to sell at our Student Store using the Cricut die cutter, vinyl paper, and tools. Together, we will learn how to design, print, and sell art to staff, students and the community.

Donations to this project will help create artistic entrepreneurs skilled in the trade of die cutting.

By implementing this program students will increase their knowledge and success in the future by providing more vocational opportunities. Students can use this skill and create an Etsy shop, enjoy as a hobby, or utilize in the job market! Thank you for your consideration and support!
