Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I am just one teacher who is part of a hardworking school community in New York.
Our school serves close to 500 students, about half of whom are English language learners and/or special education students.
My students at this project-based school are from all over the globe: Bangladesh, Dominican Republic, Togo, Senegal, and beyond! We work hard every day not only to master algebra and geometry, but also to become masters of the English language.
My Project
An Apple TV will help me in achieving my goal of a non-traditional classroom. With an Apple TV, I no longer need to be in the front of the room to showcase an example or to write on the board. Similarly, students do not need to walk to the front of the room to present their work.
I will be able to project videos, examples, and interactive activities to the entire class while being positioned anywhere in the classroom, and students will be able to showcase their work without having to leave their seats or their group mates right from our Android & Apple devices.
Being positioned in two classrooms means I am in need two of these devices!
