Help me give my students dialysis tubing to explore the properties of a cell's membrane.
FULLY FUNDED! Mr. Jones's classroom raised $383
This project is fully funded
My Students
My class is an open enrollment AP class. The students in my classroom are very diverse in terms of their abilities and needs since I take all comers. There are many students who are English language learners. They need a classroom that gives them the support they need to be successful in high school.
As a comprehensive public high school, my students represent the entire spectrum of students.
Over 50% qualify for free and reduced lunch. By donating to my classroom you will be helping a diverse socio-economic population.
The key to a successful classroom is that I differentiate my instruction to meet all the unique needs of all my students. With proper support, all my amazing students can meet their potential.
My Project
Help me give my students dialysis tubing. The tubing has almost identical properties as the membranes of the cell. This allows students to experiment directly to learn the properties of their own cells.
The processes the students will be able to master with these labs include osmosis, diffusion ad facilitated diffusion.
With your donation I will have enough tubing to allow each student to perform an experiment in the fall. This will be very difficult due to distancing requirements. However, this tubing can be given to each student so they can still do hands on learning through direct experimentation.
More than half of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
