My students need an organizational shelf in order to maintain their work on a daily basis. My students do not have backpacks or lockers so this item will help with organizational skills.

My Students
I work with special education students in North Carolina. My students have a moderate disability. They are working towards a career readiness high school diploma. These students are required to study general education courses but work towards career readiness.
Students do take general education courses such as English, Math, Science, and Social Studies.
During the four years of high school, students hold jobs, volunteer in our community, and become gainfully employed after high school graduation. These are remarkable students who are eager to work hard to earn from their accomplishments. If it were not for this program, many of these students would become high school drop-outs. These are the hardest working students I have ever known in my ten years of teaching.
My Project
We need a literature organizer. My students do not carry book bags and do not have lockers at our school. They will have the opportunity to put their daily work folders inside this filing system in order to stay organized and gain higher grades. At the moment, we are using plastic containers and folders and there is work scattered all around my classroom.
It is important for me to teach the students a sense of responsibility for their supplies and organizational skills.
Teaching Special Education students, they need to have the ability to go out into the world and manage their items and be successful.
