I teach special education 5- 8th grade. The students and I are looking for fun and exciting ways to learn math. They enjoy hands on activities for example as we problem solve, learn geometry, visualize and cut different shapes for collages.
The construction paper, markers, poster board, tissue paper and paint, suncatchers, and paint brushes will help provide hands on activities as they learn new Math skills using Art.
It will help students visualize and make math activities or projects as they learn fractions, graphs, measurements, figures and shapes. they will learn these concepts along with so many others that the art materials will help us as we learn and integrate art in Math. Being a special education teacher I realize my students learning disabilities, and they need different strategies that will help them succeed in the classroom. I feel these Art supplies would help provide them with different ways to learn math.
