My Students

My students walk into our classroom every day full of life, ready to learn, and excited for what is in store for them that day. I have 15 wonderful students in my class this year who are all so very unique and special, and together they make every day so much fun! I also teach an additional reading class of 14 other amazing students. Together, I teach 29 students every day!

They are growing and learning in the same small, tight-knit, school community that inspired me to be a teacher.

They are dreamers, thinkers, talkers, and questioners. They are mini inspirations to themselves and others around them, even if they don't know it. They are our future, and I want to give them a great start to their long, successful career.

My Project

I am asking for a classroom set of the book "Wonder" by RJ Palacio.

I have recently read this book with my own son, and this book is amazing for reading skills, teaching kindness, and learning compassion.

I want to do a 2-week book study with my reading students this coming spring!

I will be able to incorporate spelling, vocabulary, journaling, and reading comprehension in this lesson. Once we are finished with the book study, my students will be able to take an AR test on the book for points as well as have a fun day watching the movie that goes along with it!
