Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
We are a local public Elementary School in Worcester, MA. We have completed a few months of school and our students are well into the routines and structures that make our school flow effectively.
We ask a lot of our students on a daily basis, and they try their hardest to live up the expectations.
Providing clean, new recess equipment is a small way of giving back and showing them we care. We have been able to get some recess equipment through some donations earlier this year, but there's still a need. We have a student body of 500 and all of them have a different set of skills and abilities. This request will include some items for lower grades and will help supplement what we already have. It's important for our students to learn the art of appropriate play, by taking turns and socializing in a positive manner.
Please consider our request and help us put a smile on these kids faces so they can be more successful through the day. Thank you in advance!
My Project
We ask for your support in sponsoring recess equipment such as basketballs, soccer balls, footballs, flag football belts, practice pinnies, jump ropes, frisbees, and hoops. These materials will make a difference in our students' learning because it will provide some quality downtime for them to let out some steam during recess. Being in a low-income district, most of these kids won't have the opportunity to play an organized sport or engage in appropriate gameplay often. We are trying to provide a high-quality program to expose them to different sports and activities.
The equipment we are requesting will provide more opportunities for kids to learn certain sports, and engage in outdoor recess activities at different levels.
They will have a chance to play more than just team sports. They will improve their coordination and be healthier by playing with jump ropes, frisbees and then some.
