Teaching is Learning and Learning is Teaching, Go STEM!
I need to attend the National Science Teachers Association STEM Forum and Expo so can continue learning about STEM education and best practices in science so that my students can grow as scientists.
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Delgado's classroom raised $499
This project is fully funded
Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
"Oh, I get it now!"- This is the most wonderful phrase to hear in a room full of 32 excited students from different parts of the world. My students are learning challenging science concepts and literacy skills that will help them become successful in the future. I teach a diverse population of students from low income households in a Title I school. Many of my students are English language learners. The different languages you hear in my classroom are Spanish, Bengali, Urdu, Arabic, Russian and more.
My students are eager to learn, and love to see materials and lab equipment out because they know they will be carrying out interesting and engaging laboratory work that day.
They are hard working students, eager to learn and with a desire to succeed.
My Project
I have been teaching science for over 10 years and I still love what I do. My students deserve an opportunity at the best education they can receive. Part of being an educator is to continue to learn and grow professionally so that I can help them reach their greatest potential.
This project covers the cost of registration, membership, and food during the National Science Teachers Association STEM Forum and Expo.
I would love to attend this forum so I can learn more about the latest STEM content and teaching strategies so that my students can gain a better understanding and appreciation for science. I want to ensure that my students get a solid foundation in the STEM areas so that they are prepared to both work and live in the 21st century.
Becoming a member of the National Science Teacher Association and attending the the Annual STEM forum and Expo will provide me with the tools and knowledge that I need to create innovative and creative science lessons and activities that will spark my students' interest in science and STEM careers.
