My students are an amazing group of diverse learners from a wide array of cultural backgrounds that strive to be the best they can be. Every morning we hold morning meetings to build community, empathy, and global citizens. I am so fortunate to have a class of students that show curiosity, empathy, and the desire to learn every day. They love to learn through collaboration, hands on, and inquiry based projects. On days that I plan for more exciting hands on activities, they show so much excitement and gratitude.
I am requesting funding to cover the expenses for the teach your heart out conference in San Diego, California. I am a fourth year teacher that is constantly looking for ways to grow as an educator and provide engaging, collaborative, and critical thinking opportunities for my students. I have been so inspired by many of the teach your heart out presenters through social media and blogs and have successfully implemented their ideas and strategies in my classroom. At teach your heart out, I would love for the opportunity to learn from and get new ideas from more educators to bring back to my classroom and to share with my colleagues.
