My Project
Financial literacy is a critical life skill that everyone needs — and the earlier children learn it, the better prepared they are to make smart, informed decisions throughout their lives. Teaching financial literacy to kids isn’t just about saving money in a piggy bank. It’s about helping them understand the value of money, how to plan, how to think critically, and how to solve real-world problems — all essential parts of success in today’s world.
Our project is designed to introduce elementary-aged gifted students to financial literacy in a fun, engaging, and age-appropriate way.
Gifted learners often thrive when presented with real-world challenges and interdisciplinary learning. By connecting financial literacy to STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math), we’re giving them a hands-on, future-focused learning experience.
Through this project, students will explore core financial concepts like budgeting, saving, spending wisely, and even the basics of investing. But we’re going beyond worksheets — we’re incorporating math-based problem solving, data analysis, simple coding, and even simulation tools to model financial decisions. These activities will not only build financial awareness but also sharpen STEM skills like logical thinking, experimentation, and creative problem solving.
