Teaching Easel for My Kindergarten Classroom!

My students need a Double-Wide Teaching Easel with Locking Casters.

FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Dalapit's classroom raised $516

This project is fully funded

We have no boards in our classroom and need a multi-purpose and portable teaching easel to use for general instruction. I teach Kindergarten in a low-income elementary school. Most of our student population is low socioeconomic status, qualifies for free or reduced lunch, bused in from low-income neighborhoods, and live in single parent households. Despite some of the hardships that our students may experience, they are impressive performers, students, and show strong character.

Our school runs on a tight budget and is also situated in an older building. The classrooms were built for different times and do not adequately accommodate for the type of learning that goes takes place today. My particular classroom does not have any chalkboards or white boards, which makes teaching whole and small group lessons difficult especially when trying to post materials and student work from different subject areas. I currently am using one small portable board that has limited space and often times I feel I waste valuable learning time trying to adjust and transition. Displaying multiple posters, books, and writing charts becomes an obstacle and materials are not easily accessible especially to my students. Students often times refer to the teaching easel for projects and their independent work, but since our current board is small, they have expressed how difficult it is to see and to use. It is not a reliable and beneficial resource.

The new teaching easel would add to the limited board space we have now and become the new teaching board for most, if not all, the lessons. Its size would make it easier for students to access its contents and the dual boards provide an array of curriculum uses across the disciplines and subject areas.

With your help and generosity, my students will have access to more displayed resources that will promote their learning. Learning time is not wasted by fumbling for needed materials or finding accommodating areas in the classroom to post instructional items. You can make it possible for learning to become efficient and accessible. What may seem like a simple piece of furniture can provide gateways to better learning.
