Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Third graders are an inquisitive group, always eager to learn and understanding of others. Providing my students books that touch on diverse topics such as racial justice teaches students kindness and compassion. Books help to bridge the gap and engages students to think about characters not only in books, but people in their world. Books provide opportunities to talk about challenging topics that are worthy of discussion.
The chapter book, "Because Of Winn Dixie," discusses the importance of kindness, acceptance, and the power of friendship, topics which are relevant to eight year olds.
Your support is appreciated and will allow my students to deepen their understanding of others by opening their eyes and hearts, one book at a time.
