My students are amazing. They are eager to work with me.
Many of my students have high anxiety over this pandemic which has made them feel as though they don't have control over their lives or connections to their friends.
During this unexpected time of school closure, my students need the connections to my classroom and other students through online learning. In order to engage them in long-distance learning, I need basic supplies to help me teach them in ways that will hold their interest.
Often, students experience the same challenges adults do. The difference is that they have limited choice in trying to solve their own problems. Providing basic school supplies provides solutions for one of their most stressful worries.
Help me to have the tools needed to teach my students with basic school supplies like pens, pencils, notebooks, highlighters and file folders to stay organized.
My Project
My project will help me teach my students by providing resources from Teachers Pay Teachers that download into a digital format that can be used in Google Classroom immediately. The other items help me demonstrate concepts they need visually through Google Hangouts such as vibrant colored pens and paper. My students are use to face to face teaching in our classroom. Adjusting to digital learning is challenging for all of us.
High School can be a challenging time for many students any time, but especially during this time of uncertainty, students need the reassurance of classroom support even as they are stuck at home.
I hope to improve their virtual learning by sharing books with them in video read alouds and by using colorful markers and pens while I'm demonstrating concepts on a dry erase board or a notepad.
With the tools in this projects, I want to inspire my students to keep learning with me virtually through engaging formats I can do from my home.
