Teaching and Technology!

Help me give my students iPads to do all things that will make them successful in this 21st century learning environment and allow them to create an interactive learning experience.

My Students

My classroom is full of 21 fifth graders who are eager, excited, and energetic when it comes to learning. They are creative, artistic thinkers, and active learners. They are passionate and enthusiastic leaders.

The majority of my students come from low to middle income families.

Most do not have easy access to technology.

My classroom is a place where students are able to interact with one another to learn and grow in Science and Social Studies. They inspire me to try new things and to find new ways to get them engaged and moving. I know that technology has become a big part of education and a great way to access information. I am always encouraging my students to utilize their resources. I want them to grow and explore in their learning through different means of technology.

My Project

Integrating technology is so beneficial because it allows for more effective communication between teachers, students, and peers, which are vital to student success in the classroom. The use of technology in the classroom creates a space for students to have a voice in the classroom and to be creative with how they present their understanding of material. My goal is to provide them with technology to engage in a variety of Science and Social Studies activities.

New iPads will reinforce and motivate my students during their learning.

It will be used as a tool to help them complete their assignments, and communicate with their peers. It will provide an engaging way for them to conduct research, understand concepts by watching videos, reading articles, practicing fluency, or other enrichment games. They will also be able to create both independent and group projects in order to show a true understanding of concepts. With these iPads, all students will be able to access learning through technology on a daily basis.

Most importantly, they will be empowered to take responsibility for their learning through giving feedback, and participating in projects and learning activities that respect their individuality, while having support to learn and understand how to use technology creatively, effectively, and safely.

I want to thank you in advance for the chance to allow my students access to technology and the opportunity for them to incorporate technology into their learning. We are determined to develop a community of 21st century learners!
