My Students

I work in a school whose population is primarily made up of students from low income housing. My students’ parents may or may not be in the picture, and whom may or may not have the resources they need to feel safe, warm, and comfortable, at home.

My students are a fun, sassy, & an independent bunch!

They are inquisitive and love learning. They have grown so much over the past 6 months and are continuing to do so!

When students enter third grade they are not only taking district assessments and local school assessments but they are also taking Milestones. These assessments are done all online. To best prepare my students, I want them to become acclimated to the computer. They need to know how to use different features, what research looks like, and how to do math problems, all online! Not only that, but my students use the computers and iPads they have access to, throughout the day to practice the core subjects: reading, math, science and social studies.

Currently, I have 19 students and only 5 pieces of technology. I would love your help to provide my students with more technology!

My Project

The generation in elementary schools now are so tech forward. They want it not only for entertainment but also to learn new things.

Currently, my third graders use it daily to practice reading, math, science, and social study skills.

It’s hard to have a technology rotation when half the time my technology doesn’t work and the fact that there isn’t enough technology to go around, in the first place.

I would love to have more Chromebooks for the kids to use to not only practice the core subjects but to help them learn how to use technology in an educational setting!
