Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are English language learners who live in an urban area in Los Angeles where gang activity is constant. They live in small rented homes or converted garages, often with their extended family. Every student qualifies for free breakfast and lunch.
Despite their obstacles, my kindergarten students are excited about their future, are college-bound, and work hard every day to achieve their goals.
They love learning and come to school asking, "What are we going to learn today?"
My Project
I consider myself an educator who is always driven by the desire to do the best for my students. Although the pandemic has forced me to sharpen my technology skills, unfortunately, I can be limited by the training I have received and the time I have available.
A TPT gift card will enable me to purchase resources outside of my current restraints.
With a TPT gift card, I hope to have the ability to purchase digital resources that supplement the ongoing training I receive on remote instruction. I also need more digital activities to enhance my instruction. My students get excited by interactive technology that allows them to drag and drop and the cute graphics only adds to their excitement. I frankly have not been trained to create similar resources and/or lack the time to do so.
