Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

We are an innovation school this year. This means that our school has been allowed to provide even more meaningful opportunities to the students within our boundaries. Students at my school receive free lunches.

I have a classroom of students that range in all different ability levels.

Our school is also a Project Restore School. Each week students take math tests and are also assessed on reading skills. Both are cumulative and rigorous, meaning skills are always practiced and cannot be forgotten. Seeking additional resources is essential for remediation.

No two students learn the same way or at the same pace. With varying abilities and levels of students, interventions and small group work are necessary for students to master state standards and improve their reading comprehension and mathematical understanding.

Through the utilization of these gift cards, I can provide my scholars with on-level activities to practice reading and math skills. TPT gift cards will allow me to seek resources appropriate for each of my students quickly so I can have more time to focus on teaching and working with my students. I will be able to close gaps in my students' reading skills and further their understanding of the various mathematical processes with the help of these resources.
