My Students

My students cover a wide range of backgrounds. I have students that live without ever having to worry about where their next meal will come from or about having their school supplies. However I also have students that depend on the food that is supplied at the school, only have supplies because of the Dollar Store or because of things that I have to give them, and/or are embarrassed to ask for help.

Diversity makes us unique!

I also have a wide group of cultural backgrounds in my class. I have students from all walks of life.

My Project

Teachers Pay Teachers is an AMAZING resource! I am constantly looking for additional resources for my students and often end up spending my own money on these fantastic items. It would be extremely helpful to be able to use gift cards instead of my own money.

I would use the gift cards for activities to help my students with their 5th grade ELA standards such as multiple main ideas, authors point of view, and text structure.

These are areas that students need a lot of practice with, but unfortunately don't have resources that are rigorous enough or interesting enough to them (unless I purchase them from TPT).

I would also use the gift cards to purchase activities and resources to further our novel studies. One of my favorite things to do is read with my students and help foster a love of reading. We do class book studies and a lot of the amazing resources on TPT for book studies cost a pretty penny. This would be super helpful because I could purchase the resources and my students can go deeper into their learning.
