it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I have been teaching special education for the past 16 years. There have been occasions when I have had students that have severe speech and language impairments. So much so that it is common practice for them to use some American Sign Language.
A couple of years ago I took an online course to expand my knowledge of American Sign Language.
It is now time to expand my knowledge of American Sign Language, so that I can better assist and communicate with my students that have severe speech impairments. With a more in depth knowledge of American Sign Language, I will be able to help my students communicate by practicing and teaching them different signs.
In order to take these courses that will assist me in being a better equipped teacher, I need an Apple iMac computer. The first 2 classes that I signed up for are 100% online. I currently own a laptop that I can use, but the laptop is outdated. It no longer charges, I need to have it connect to the power outlet in order to use it. The laptop also sounds very low so it's difficult to hear online course unless my surrounding area is very quiet. I am afraid that the laptop will stop working any day and leave me without the tools to take these online classes. I would like this iMac so that I can be assured that I have the proper tools that will help me become a better equipped teacher.
