Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I have 15 wonderful students from diverse backgrounds. All are from working class families whose parents do their best to support their students at home while also making sure they have basic needs. My students are hardworking and have a great desire to learn through exploring and asking questions, which makes teaching them that much more fun. I have an array of needs in my classroom with students who have Language Disorders, Autism Spectrum Disorder, physical challenges and are Gifted and Talented which just makes our class that more beautiful.

I always have had a love for children, and I am thankful that through many of life's changes and detours, it has led me right where I should have been the whole time.

These students make me laugh so hard I cry and their love for learning ignites a passion in me that I never knew I had. Celebrating in their success has brought me much joy in life and I hope continues for a long time.

My Project

I am requesting assistance to attend Get your Teach On, a national teaching conference led by all the greats in the teaching world. At Get Your Teach On, I will learn how to help my students love school and choose to learn every day. Since entering my teaching career just under 2 years ago, I never knew this supportive world of teachers existed. I could not be more excited at the possibility of meeting some of the most inspirational people in person.

Through conversations on research-based strategies, hands-on experiences, and collaboration with other teachers around the world, Get Your Teach On is the ultimate professional development.

At the conference, we will collaborate and learn about providing our students with the best possible education through rigorous lesson plans that ignite a passion in them as well. Hearing from today's top educators will allow me to take my learned knowledge back into my classroom where the students are the ones who benefit most.
