This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are a mix of ELL and standard English Learners. Many of my students did attend Pre-K and came to class with limited language and academic skills, but still strive to do their best. They are beginning to read, write, and count independently and take pride in their work.
My Kindergartners are eager to learn more everyday from adults and their peers.
They show perseverance and never give up despite challenges they face.
Our school is Title 1 and they receive free meals for breakfast, lunch, and after school.
My Project
I had the privilege to work with a National Board Certified Teacher for the first 2 years of my teaching career. She inspired me to become the teacher I am today. After 13 years of teaching, I have decided to take the opportunity to continue learning and sharing my journey as a National Board Certified Teacher. Although I will face many challenges during the process, it will also be rewarding, yet expensive.
We as teachers, teach others that learning never stops.
With your support, it will fund components 1-4. During the next several months, I look forward to challenging my teaching strategies, reflecting on data, and strengthening my abilities to differentiate for all learners. Completing these components will continue my passion to teach and learn.
