This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students come from different socioeconomic backgrounds, cultures and countries. They range from general education, special education and ESL students who are just learning the English language. My students have some of the most beautiful souls and often help fellow classmates that are struggling.

I believe that every one of my students has purpose in my classroom.

As their teacher I always try to find a way to boost my students' self esteem, practice what it means to truly love yourself, be accepting of others and find a love for Science.

My Project

This year I plan on incorporating a new method to my teaching which includes a "StoryLine". Students need to work individually, in small groups and as a whole class to share their ideas and come up with a solution for a problem. This way of teaching lets the students explore and navigate the curriculum and standards without even knowing it!

The materials I chose are going to help my students develop a new way of thinking and become the future problem solvers we need in our society.

The note pads are for individual and small group reflection and the large chart paper is for our whole group notes and models. The markers, pencils, and glue sticks are going to be used to help students carry out these tasks and stay organized within their groups. Bulletin board accessories are going to be used for the dedicated space for this Unit and hopefully keep the students excited.

The end goal is for my students to learn about the body systems and how they are all connected to one another. They will also have a deeper understanding of how the food that we eat is broken down and used by the body. They will be learning Science in my classroom, but this type of learning will trickle down into the other subject areas as well. This is going to offer and prepare them for a new way of learning, while questioning the world around them! It's something I'm so excited to see happen right before my eyes!
