Teacher's Learning Center

My students need a Learning Easel and 2 chart pads, so we can do more of our learning in a community setting at the front of our classroom.

My Students

"Let us remember: One book, one pen, one child, and one teacher can change the world."- Malala Yousafzai Malala is one of my biggest heroes and I strive to live this quote daily. Education is a gift, one that can never be taken away.

Our classroom is a very diverse one!

We have students of many different ethnicities, from all kinds of backgrounds, and with lots of different challenges and strengths. We try to learn in lots of different ways: by moving, by playing, by writing and reading, and by manipulating and questioning.

My Project

We will use these materials to learn and create as a community up on the carpet at the front of our room. I think using anchor charts is a fantastic way to record student learning, and can be a visual reference for students who might be struggling. As of now, I have to tape paper to the only whiteboard in my room in order to create anchor charts, and must them move them and drape them over bookshelves when they're not in use. Not only would a teaching easel and chart pads allow me to more easily create and store anchor charts, but it would also allow students to be a much bigger part of that process, as the easel would be at their height.

This project will make a huge difference in the lives of all my students, but especially those who struggle with language and struggle to remember what has been read or discussed.

It will also become the focal point of our carpet time, which will really help foster a sense of community in my classroom.
