This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I became a Board Certified teacher in 2004 and renewed in 2013. The process of becoming a NBC teacher was an amazing experience. I reflected on my teaching practice and pushed myself to grow as a teacher to better meet my students' needs.
According to the National Board, "There is a decade of research to support the impact the Board -Certified teachers have on students.
Students of Board-certified teachers learn more than their peers without Board-certified teachers. The impact of having a board-certified teacher is even greater for BIPOC and on low economic students."
The process of certification has affected my teaching practice and has made me a better, more reflective teacher for my students. As a board-certified teacher, I have become a leader at my school and in the larger district. I am sharing my practices with numerous other teachers, which impacts their students. I look forward to renewing and am grateful for your support.
