Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach 34 self-contained high school students.

We reside in a Title I school, which means there is very little funding, yet we have such a high need for supplies!

My students are all amazing, unique, loving and energetic humans! They are vibrant and brave, active and creative. My students have a variety of diagnoses including but not limited to: Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, ED, Down Syndrome, LD, and multiple disabilities. I have verbal students as well as nonverbal students. All of my students have difficulty with communication skills, social skills, and struggle to process sensory information.

Our class is bare and supplies are minimal. My students deserve the best, and at the very least deserve the items deemed necessary to help them self-regulate, de-stress and provide imperative sensory stimulation.

My Project

Please help me give my students materials for our daily learning. Our classroom supplies are extremely limited and materials are not provided for us. My students are eager to learn and I am eager to teach them. We really need help in gaining needed materials to help them with individualized learning needs.

Every classroom can be created into a very effective, multi-modal way and be a therapeutic environment for all students with disabilities.

Visuals are extremely important to have access to for all of my students to help guide their literacy learning. My students require a multi-modal approach to learning in order to gain the necessary skills of their same age, general education peers.

I am asking for help to give my students materials for daily learning. I can purchase individualized materials for each of my students through Teachers Pay Teachers. Not only do my students require these individualized tools, but their families need them as well to help support them from the other end at home.
